As members of the League of Women Voters, we have a LOT on our plate, right?
The “to-do” list for a civic-minded person is long!
SAVING DEMOCRACY?!
*ADDING IT TO THE LIST*
Society is not going to save itself. But it does feel like a big lift. You know what helps? Empowering people. Responding to the moment. Making plans. Educating yourself. Meeting like-minded people. Kicking butt (since we are among friends here). The League of Women Voters provides all kinds of opportunities to get involved, from responding to threats to our democracy, engaging in public policy advocacy to protect our rights and our communities, registering voters, doing community education, hosting issue and candidate forums and more! We need you to jump in, we have a lot to do!
Join us on Tuesday, April 15th at 7 pm to learn about the opportunity to help lead the organization into the future. Join women across Pennsylvania who are helping the League expand its presence as a leading advocate for critical priorities, including protecting our democracy and women’s rights. As a leader, you will have a chance to work with a network of passionate and dedicated women and learn and develop new skills. Both our state and our local League boards are looking for people who are interested in building our network, our capacity and our power together. Join a committee or a Board; pick a project and help make it happen!
Not sure you are ready? Not sure it is your time? Attend the session to learn more and help us think about developing leaders for next year too. We’ll talk about opportunities to serve on Boards or join projects, requirements, our policies and we will discuss learning opportunities and support as well.
